Collect, Prep, and Tag

JBF St. Cloud's Fall 2018 Event is an all Seasons Sale. We will be accepting Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter items.

• Gather new and/or gently-used items from around the house, under your beds or in the closets and garage.
• Make sure they are in working order, have all the pieces and that the clothes are without stains, tears or worn marks.
• Price and tag items using our advanced online barcoding system.


Drop Off!

• Drop items off up to 1-2 days prior to the sale where we sell them on your behalf
• After the shopping event concludes, we organize your unsold items for you to pick up during our scheduled pick up time or you can donate to our charity partner. If you can't pick up during the scheduled time, you can help during the Breakdown shift and take home your unsold items at the end of the shift.
• Then (here's the best part) your check arrives two weeks after the sale (you earn 60-70% of your total sales)!

Less than 2 weeks after the sale, your check is in the mail!

Selling made Simple

Consignors earn 60% of their total sales less a $12/$15 consignor fee per event.

Consignors who are able to help during (or before) the sale earn 65%-70%.

This is how it works:

4 hour Shift: Help at the sale for at least 4 hours & earn 65% profit on your total sold items plus 1 friend pass to the presale. You can combine (2) 2 hour shifts or work a 4 hour shift.

8 hour Shift:  Help at the sale for at least 8 hours & earn 70% profit on your total sold items plus 1 friend pass to the presale. You can combine shifts to work a total of 8 hours.

12 hour Shift:  Help at the sale for at least 12 hours & earn 70% profit on your total sold items plus 1 friend pass to the presale. You can combine shifts to work a total of 12 hours. SHOP FIRST! Team Members that work 12 or more hours are the 1st group to shop!

All Consignors get a pre-sale pass to shop before we open to the public, getting first dibs at all of the wonderful bargains!

JBF Team Members get great shopping perks & helping is fun! Volunteers help with greeting& assisting shoppers, straightening clothes on the racks, organizing items, inspection, security and more.

Check the TEAM MEMBER box and it opens the online scheduler to choose a shift.  Note! You must be a Consignor to register. Haven't consigned before...it's a great time to start!

What to Bring & Wear:

Please bring any food or drink that you might need during your shift.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Presale Passes:

Consignors will receive your Presale Pass instructions at Consignor Drop Off.

You are able to invite one guest to join you for early shopping. 

Sort & Breakdown Team Members are invited to shop our Half Price Party from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Saturday, Sept. 22 and all other Team Members from 6:30-9pm! Bring 1 guest along for first-dibs on half-off items.

Bonus Shifts:

You will notice sort & tear down shifts are BONUS shifts.  These are worth more, so you get to shop first for both the presale and the half price presale! Please log into your JBF Profile and click "volunteer" to see details. Plus, those that help with this shift can pick up their items to bring home as soon as sort is finished, putting you first in line to sign out of the event.

High Volume Consignors:

Consignors who bring 500 items or more are REQUIRED to help at least 4 hours during Breakdown.
Consignors who bring more than 150 items are HIGHLY encouraged to help during Breakdown.



Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 10am-7pm.

  • Bring your items tagged, prepped, and sorted by type & size.
  •  Drive to the drop off entrance at the back of the store between Macy's and Target, signs will be up to direct you - a friendly Team Member will greet you & help you get checked in!
  • You will place your items on the sales floor after they are inspected (plan for about an hour).
  • Pick up your Presale Tickets and be ready to shop 'til you drop!

Kids are welcome during all Presale shopping times.  Please use caution as the Presales can be crowded and overwhelming. Children must be closely supervised and stay with the parent at all times.

Presale Passes: Consignors will receive  Presale Pass instructions at Drop Off. 





Sort and Breakdown will be from 11am-4pm or until sorting is completed on Monday, Sept. 24. If you help with this shift, you are able to take your unsold items home right away.

You have a choice!
After the event, you may donate your unsold items to our charity partner, A Place of Hope  OR pick up your unsold items. If you donate items, you will be helping our local community + receive a donation slip for tax purposes with your check.

Pick up will be Monday, Sept. 21 at 7pm or you can help with the Sort Shift on Monday and bring your items home after sortinf is finished. Pick up is totally painless as all items are sorted for you (how cool is that?).  You can be in and out quickly!

• Any items that were pulled from the sales floor during the event (stained, broken, recalled or missing a tag) will be organized on tables/racks to look over and collect as a part of the pickup process.

After pick up, all remaining items are donated to our charity partner. Sorry, no exceptions!

This is an ALL Season Sale. This means you can sell Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer clothing.

Baby clothes through juniors for both boys and girls are accepted, as well as maternity clothing.

Gather:  We sell children's clothing Newborn through size 20 (Popular name brands sell well, like Under Armor, Abercrombie, Hollister, Roxy, American Eagle, Nike, Volcom, Burton) as well as maternity sizes. Be picky. Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them. No stained or damaged items will be accepted.  Any items that look like "mom's" clothes will be rejected at inspection. Please freshly clean your clothing items. Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads. Please button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing. The newer the item looks, the better it will sell.

Package & Hang:  Hangers - Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark when looking at the front of the garment).  Hang size 0-6 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 7-20 and maternity clothing on adult-size hangers. Clothing that falls off the hanger onto the floor does not sell well. Old Navy and many outlet stores are great places to get free hangers (they throw away hangers daily!) and Goodwill, WalMart & Target sell child-size plastic tube hangers at a great price.  Clothing Sets - Sets tend to sell better so match things up if you can. Safety pin or use a tagging gun to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.  Pants/Shorts/Skirts - Pant-clip hangers are great but if you use a standard hanger, simply use your tagging gun to attach pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide or safety pin. Onesies, socks, tights, hats and infant mittens need to be in a clear zip-lock bag (you may group multiple items in one bag). Please be sure to label your tag well so that customers know if the items are short-sleeve onesies or long-sleeve onesies.

Price:  Hanging Clothing - Put outfits/set together to price for at least $3.00; Start at $3 for basic, generic brand 0-24mo outfit. Add $1 each for larger size, name brand, formal, and heavy/winter.  Non-hanging Clothing - Put sets together to price for at least $3.00, but okay to price for less (i.e., 6 pair of socks for $1.50).

Tag:  Clothing on Hangers - Attach tag with a tagging gun or safety pin to the label of shirt or upper right front of pants. Insert the gun in a label or inside seam NOT through part of the clothing (to avoid making a hole or tear in the clothing). Also, pull on the tag to make sure it is properly secured and will not come off easily. Please make sure consignor tags are pulled out of the clothing so they are easily visible to the customers.  Non-Hanging Clothing - Please use tagging gun or safety pins to attach tags to onesies, socks, tights, infant mittens, and accessories. Be sure to also attach multiple pieces together. Then put these items into clear zip-lock bags. Please do not tape bags closed - shoppers want to feel and inspect items before purchasing.

Large item Hot Sellers

Outdoor Toys: Playhouses, Slides, Sandboxes, Bikes, Scooters, Riding Toys, etc.

Sports Equipment: Bats, Balls, Soccer Nets, Cleats, Gloves, Hockey Gear, etc.

Baby Equipment: Strollers, Car Seats, Exersaucers, Bouncy Chairs, Changing Tables, Jumperoos, Pack-n-Plays, Bassonets, Swings, Chairs, Bath Tubs, Cribs, etc.

Gaming Systems: Play Stations, X-Box, V-Tech toys, Nintendos, etc.

Bedding, Blankets & Textiles

Gather:  Bedding sizes accepted are bassinet through king. Please be selective when selling bedding, blankets, receiving blankets, burp cloths, and towels. New and barely used items sell best. Check carefully for stains; shoppers get very disappointed if they find a stain in a bundled blanket once they get home.

Package:  Put bedding/crib/bedroom sets together in original packaging or in giant clear plastic bags. Arrange bedding sets inside bag so that shoppers can see all of the items as well as the design/pattern. Secure the bag so that items do not get separated. Bundle blankets, cloths, and towels with ribbon or string like a package (be sure multiple pieces cannot be separated).

Price:  Price to sell! Shoppers are less likely to purchase these items used, so prices have to be low. Try to price 75% - 90% off retail.

Tag:  If bedding is in a plastic bag, attach tag securely with packaging tape to the inside of the bag and tape the bag shut (bedding set prices vary widely and securing tags inside bags prevents tag switching). If bedding/blankets are bundled with string, attach tag directly to blanket and tuck it under the ribbon/string so that it does not easily get pulled off when shifting around during the sale.


Puzzels, board games, electronics, dolls, cars, trucks, ride-on toys, block sets, remote control cars, outdoor toys, learning toys, and more. All toys must be checked for safety recalls before consigning. Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly. Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores).  We do accept stuffed animals; however, we will have many to choose from so please price to sell.

Package: Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in self-seal bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.  Include the manual if available.

Price: Price 50% - 90% off retail.

Tag: Attach JBF tag directly to item with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Don't forget about shoes and boots!

Gather: Make sure that the shoes are clean, clean, clean! We will be VERY selective with shoes during Consignor Drop Off & Inspection. Shoes must not be scuffed and overly worn.

Package: Fasten shoes together with zip ties. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear zip-lock bag. We prefer no shoe boxes. However, if shoes are in the box, please remove the lid, secure it to the bottom of the box, and secure the shoes to the box (closed boxes do not sell well).

Price: Shoes must be in good condition and should start at $3.00 for infant/toddler.

Tag: Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with the ribbon, string, or zip tie. For infant shoes in a clear zip-lock bag, put the tag inside the bag and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape.

Bags & Baby Carriers

Gather:  Diaper bags,  infant carriers, backpacks, and purses are great consignment items. Please inspect all items carefully to make sure items have not been recalled, stained, damaged or are missing pieces.  We no longer accept breast pumps (accessories that can be sanitzed are accepted).

Package:  Zip-tie items to an adult-size hanger. If you would like to place high priced itmes (over $20) in our High Value Cabinet near Checkout, please see a volunteer at Drop Off for assistance.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Hole-punch JBF tag and attach it to item with ribbon or string. If item contains multiple pieces, be sure all pieces are included and list number of items on JBF tag description.

Correctly Using a Tagging Gun

If you've got LOTS of clothing to tag, a tagging gun can really speed things up! It's VERY important you use a tagging gun correctly though. We CAN'T accept clothing with holes made from barbs!

To use a tagging gun: Insert the barb through a clothing size label (best option) or through an inside seam allowance (if there is no tag) and NOT through the upper right of the clothing as you normally would with a safety pin.
(Tagging this way will avoid making a hole in the clothing. A safety pin pokes two holes so it distributes the weight evenly unlike a tagging barb that makes only one hole and can rub and leave a hole in the fabric if used inproperly.)

Furniture & Equipment

Gather:  Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, cribs (Manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011; please bring Crib Waiver for all cribs), strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, car seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls, must have all parts, and be in good condition. Children's furniture - beds (toddler, twin), desks, side tables, dressers, etc.  Household furniture - please see Mommy Mart information below.

Package:  Clean all infant equipment thoroughly. If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, zip-ties, or string to keep items attached together. If wooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item. All furniture and equipment must be assembled during the sale. Batteries must be included, if applicable. Please bring a Car Seat Checklist for all car seats, booster seats, and car seat bases.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Pricing Just Right!

Price your items 1/4 –1/3 of original price to hit the “sweet spot” and sell MORE of your items! For high end or brand new items you may go up to 1/2, but nothing should be priced over half of retail, even if new!

TIP! We suggest you DO allow your items to reduce!  You will sell MORE items at full price if you tag to let them reduce. What doesn’t sell at full price has a much better chance of selling on half price day, and you have money in your pocket instead of items to take home again :)

Books, Games, DVDS, Arts & Crafts

Gather:  Books, book sets, board games, puzzles, video games, video game systems, scrapbook, arts & crafts sets are great items for resale.  Please only bring kid's, parenting, homeschooling, pregnancy and child rearing books.  Games and puzzles must have all pieces.  (No "adult" content please.)  Check items to ensure they are in great condition.

Package:  Use clear self-seal bags or clear cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold multiple items together; Tie sets of books together with ribbon/string. Be sure that parts/games to video game systems (such as Vtech) cannot be separated or switched out at the sale.  Video game cartridges will be placed in a cabinet near checkout to prevent theft.  Please do not tape DVD cases shut - we will inpsect disc and seal with security sticker.

Price: Price to sell especially for books & DVDs as there are always lots to choose from at the sale. If you would like a high priced item placed in the High Value area near Checkout, please see a team member during Drop Off.

Tag:  When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with clear tape that can be removed without damaging the item. Tape tag to the outside cover of glossy books and to the inside cover of books that will easily tear when removing the tag. Please do not use masking or double sided tape. Hole-punch JBF tag and tie to sets.

Mommy Mart

Gather:  Household items that other families will use, must be current styles, not dated decor.  You may consign storage solutions (baskets, bins, shelving), furniture, decor (lamps, wall hangings, no antiques), and no kitchen appliances. 

Package:  If selling multiple pieces together, be sure that all pieces are secured together.

Price:  Price to sell!  These items are not the primary reason shoppers come to JBF, so make sure your prices are reasonable.

Tag:  Secure the tag to the item to ensure that the tag does not fall off during the sale and so that item is not damaged when the tag is removed after purchase.

Tagging Supplies

Create a "tagging tub" to keep all your supplies handy in one spot. Once you've gathered your suppies, you'll be ready to prep and tag your items!

Here's what you'll need:

    WHITE cardstock  (65lb. paper)
    1 1/2” & 2” safety pins
    Child size all plastic hangers (for sizes Newborn-6x)
    Full size all plastic hangers (for sizes 7 & up)
    Gallon & quart size Ziploc bags
    Clear packaging tape
    Scotch tape for books
    Curling Ribbon or string or zipties
    Computer and printer

Optional supplies, but well worth the time:

    Tagging Gun/barbs for tagging clothing
    Magic sponge or Norwex cloth
    (for cleaning toys & shoes)
    Tide bleach pen for stains
    Downy wrinkle releaser (the “little miracle spray!”)
    Febreeze for smoke/pet odors
